Maryland Church Celebrates Pastors with Elegant Event

Victory Chapel Honors Pastors’ Fifth Year of Serving their Congregation

The 5th Pastoral Anniversary Celebration was a fun night for the pastors and congregation of Victory Chapel in Accokeek, MD. The event, which took place August 2nd at Martin’s Camelot in Upper Marlboro, MD, honored senior pastors Kevin and Wanda Ross and their accomplishments.

Victory Chapel is, as its website states, a no judgment zone church. At some churches, you might feel like you have to put on airs, but at Victory Chapel, you can literally come as you are. “We all wear different clothes, work different jobs, reside in different houses, drive different cars, but we live the same faith,” states the site.

Victory Chapel’s vision and mission statement is to use the Bible to inspire community outreach and evangelism. The church aims to serve the people of their community in many different ways to reach those that might need a helping hand. Victory Chapel’s insistence on serving all people can be seen in the makeup of the church itself; the church boasts its status as an multicultural and interdenominational ministry.

Lindsey Ross talked about how the church promoted the event. “We advertised to our congregation through announcements, flyers, and posters,” she said. The promotion helped make the event a success.

The celebration was “excellent,” said Ross. “The entire event was great,” she said. “A highlight was definitely the comedian we hired.”

The venue was also stellar; Martin’s Camelot features a medieval-themed grand ballroom along with other ballrooms and conference/breakout rooms. The venue’s menu is just as flexible as their room selection. The menu can range from vegetarian, kosher, to gluten-free, depending on the event.

Ross gave some advice for those planning similar celebrations. The first bit of advice is to make sure you have a plan in place. “Plan ahead , don’t leave anything for the last minute,” she said. “ake your requests with your vendors clear, stay organized, and delegate!
