Empire Eye and Laser Center Celebrates Doctor’s Award
The night of July 25 was full of fun, hors d’oeuvres, champagne, and cool raffle items aimed to create great smiles. The Diamond Event, hosted by Empire Eye and Laser Center in Bakersfield, CA, was created to honor one of the center’s prestigious doctors.
If you’re not familiar with the Empire Eye and Laser Center, here’s some background. According to the center’s website, the center was founded in 1998 by Dr. James D. Shuler, M.D., F.A.C.S. Since 2008, the practice has been led by Dr. Joseph H. Chang, M.D. (who also serves as the Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA). Chang’s brother, Dr. Daniel H. Chang, M.D., also works at the center as a fellowship-trained sub-specialist in the cataract, refractive and corneal surgeries.
As alluded to, the center specializes in eye surgeries such as laser vision correction, cosmetic eyelid surgery and refractive cataract surgery. But the center also specializes in other procedures such as aesthetic facial and skin rejuvenation.
The event, which was held at their main office, celebrated Chang’s recently awarded Allergan Diamond Status for Injectables. Some of the prizes offered included Botox, Juvederm and Latisse. Also, ticketholders received a SkinMedica samples, $50 Empire Gift Certificate, and discount cards for products and future treatments.
Sarah LeVan of Empire Eye and Laser Center said this was the first event the center has thrown that required the purchase of a ticket to enter. The public was notified about the then-upcoming event through various methods. “Our local community responds very well to newspaper ads and email blasts, those were the tactics we used to spread the word along with in office buzz to patients,” said LeVan.
“The event went spectacular, we had over 50 attendees!” said LeVan. “The raffle was probably the best part of the event, everyone really got into it and made it a fun part,” she said.
If you want to plan an event similar to this one, LeVan said to work ahead. “Plan all aspects of the party ahead of time,” said LeVan. “Pay order for all rentals and food weeks prior to the event to make everything less stressful come event day. Print complete all advertisements a month or more prior to the event to maximize exposure.”
